Mike McClellan Republican Candidate-Maine House Seat District 103 ............................................................................................................................................................................................... Issues: Keep Control Local ............................................................................................................................................................................................... Bio: Mike McClellan has lived in Raymond for over 20 years. His wife Michelle is an elementary school principal in Auburn and his children Maggie and Pat both recently graduated from Gordon College and are beginning their adult lives. Mike has extensive experience in local volunteering within the Maine House District 103 area. Mike has served both school board and select board including chairing the school board in a year a building project was being successfully presented to the public. Mike coached both boys and girls sports; volunteered in the school system and was on committees such as Raymond Recycling and Raymond PTA. While his children attended Poland Regional Middle and High School, he was both a volunteer and ran an internship program in the high school that allowed students to experience their potential career options. Mike has been an active Republican throughout his life dating back to his elementary school years. Mike’s work in healthcare, education and business has helped him form clear ideas about what is working in Maine and what needs to be changed. He believes there are many good people in our state government but the stresses of the election process cause candidates to focus more on remaining in office than on doing the people’s work. This will not be an issue for Mike. Mike’s work as Executive Director at a local Maine Chamber of Commerce and now as Director of MACCE (Maine Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives) has allowed him to focus locally as well as to make business contacts throughout Maine. His consulting practice in areas of economic development and organization/management speak to his leadership abilities and ability to work in a collaborative manner with people of different opinions. Mike and Michelle attend White Pine Community Church and have volunteered at this and their previous church. God and faith are important components of Mike and his family. Why Run…Why Now? A sudden vacancy in the Maine House Seat District #103 was a surprise to me. This seat has a tradition of strong Republican leadership and I felt that in this year where people are looking to conservative approaches, it is very important for Maine House Seat District #103 to remain in the party with core values we know will lead Maine back to a strong/growing economy. I ask for your support this fall and thank you in advance for your vote on November 2nd. mmcclellan@maine.rr.com |
